TOUR ITINERARY


Day 01 ::Arrive Cochin
Arrival at Cochin's airport/railway station. Our representative will receive you with warm welcome and assist you transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 :: Cochin tour 
After breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Cochin city which includes the visit of  Chinese fishing nets- These are fixed land installations, which are used for a very unique and unusual method of fishing. Operated from the shore, these nets are set up on bamboo and teak poles and held horizontally by huge mechanisms, which lower them into the sea. They look somewhat like hammocks and are counter-weighed by large stones tied to ropes. Proceed to visit Santa Cruz Basilica- in Fort Kochi is one of the eight Basilicas in India. This heritage edifice of Kerala is also one of the finest and imposing churches in India. Located close to the renowned St. Francis Church, this basilica serves as the cathedral church of the Diocese of Cochin, the second oldest Diocese of India. Head towards St. Francis Church- in Fort Kochi, originally built in 1503, is the oldest European church in India and has great historical significance as a mute witness to the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent. Also visit Dutch palace- Also known as Mattancherry Palace of Cochin has a quaint charm of its own. The credit for building this landmark monument partly goes to the Dutch, who captured Cochin city of Kerala during the pre-British period. This 'partly' is there because the Dutch, incidentally, were not the original builders of the famous Mattancherry Palace. Infact, this edifice was built much before the Dutch even thought of adding Cochin to their colonial possessions. In the evening enjoy Kathkali dance show at Cochin Theater.

Day 03 :: Cochin / Munnar (150 Kms/ 3-4 Hrs)
After breakfast leave for Munnar. On the way enjoy the scenic beauty of this hill station. OnArrivalcheck into the hotel.

Day 04 ::Munnar
After breakfast at hotel, visit the popular Eravikulam National Park to view Nilgiri Tahr (rare mountain goats). Visit Tea gardens, Mattupetty Reservoir, Kundala Dam and Tea Museum. Also visit Pothanmedu: Pothanmedu offers an excellent view of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The rolling hills and the lush mountains here are ideal for trekking and long mountain walks. You will also visit echo point where one can clearly hear their loud voice echoing within the reservoir. Rest of the day you can spend on your own holiday activities enjoying the wonderful beauty of Munnar hill station.

Day 05 :: Munnar / Thekkady (115 Kms/2-3 Hrs)
After breakfast start the journey to Thekkady (approx. 120 KM) drive through panoramic western ghat hills covered with spice plantations. Throughout this journey you can enjoy different type of spice plantations like cardamom, vanilla etc. check in to hotel. Rest of the day free at your leisure.

Day 06 :: Thekkady 
Early in the morning  go for boating in periyar lake, you may get a chance to watch wild animals while boating.
Later have the spice plantation tour near the Thekkady market Kumily.

Day 07 :: Thekkady / Kumarakom (110 Kms/ 3-4 Hrs)
After a relaxed breakfast drive to Kumarakom. On arrival check into the resort.
Rest of the day free at your leisure.
Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 08 :: Kumarakom / Alleppey (17 Kms/30 mnts)
Early morning visit to Kumarakom bird sanctuary. Later return to the hotel for breakfast. Later drive to Alleppey at Jetty point. Embark to the Houseboat. Enjoy the tradition meals (lunch) on board. Have panoramic view of surrounding villages and the green paddy fields.
Overnight stay and dinner on board.

Day 09 :: Alleppey / Kovalam (175 Kms/ 4-5 Hrs)
After breakfast disembark from the Houseboat at 9AM and drive to Kovalam. On arrival check into the hotel.
Rest of the day free at your leisure on the beach.

Day 10 :: Kovalam 
Day free at your leisure to explore the beaches.

Day 12 :: Kovalam/ Kanyakumari (89 Kms/ 1-2 Hrs) / Kovalam 
After a relaxed breakfast have an excursion tour to Kanyakumari-Surrounded by Majestic Hills and the plains bordered by colourful sea-shores, fringed with coconut trees and paddy fields, here and there are few elevated patches of red cliffs with undulating valleys and plains between the mountainous terrain and the sea - coast, so closely interwoven with Temples and Churches and other edifices lies the district, 'Kanyakumari'. On arrival visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial -it is essentially a sacred monument, built by the Vivekananda Rock Memorial Committee to commemorate the visit of Swamy Vivekananda to Shripada Parai during 24 24th, 25th and 2d 26th December 1892 for deep meditation and enlightenment. From very ancient times, the rock has been regarded as sacred place. In Puranic tradition, it has been known as Sripada a Paraiaiai: meaning the rock, that has been blessed by the touch of Shripada feet of the Goddess. Visit Kanyakumari Bagavathiamman Temple -Kanyakumari derives its name from from Goddess Kanyakumari Amman, the presiding deity of the area. The most prominent temple, the Kumari Amman, is dedicated to the goddess Parvathi as a virgin. The temple situated at the edge of the ocean for Goddess Kanyakumari has the legendary account that once Banusura, the demon king got supremacy over Devas and meted out cruel punishment to them. The Devas performed a Yagna pleading to annihilate the evils. Goddess Parasakthi came to Kumari in the form of a virgin girl and began her penanc. Also visit Thiruvalluvar Statue- is the immortal poet of Tamil Nadu and has given to the world Thirukkural. The memorial statue of Thiruvalluvar is in Kanyakumari. The pedestal of the statue is of 38 feet height and the statue over it is 95 feet tall with a grand total of 133 feet for the entire sculpture. The 3 tier pedestal known as Atharapeedam is surrounded by an artistic Mandapa known as Alankara Mandapam with 38 feet height. Surrounding the Alankara Mandapa stand 10 elephant statues signifying 8 directions with earth and space down 
Later in the evening drive back to Kovalam.

Day 13 :: Kovalam / Trivandrum (30 Kms/30 minutes)-Departure
After breakfast  you will be transferred to the international airport of Trivandrum for onward journey.
